Admission requirements Cello
Generally
- Suifficent affinity with the instrument and its repertoire
- Sufficient possibilities for developments
- Show of sufficient drive to study and enthusiasm for music and instrument
Cello
- An étude or Caprice of your choice, for example from Popper études, Duport études, Franchomme, dall'Abaco,
- A movement from a solo concerto of your choice (Haydn C, Boccherini, Saint-Saëns, Elgar, Romberg, Davidoff etc)
- A pieve for cello and piano of your choice (e.g. Fauré, Tchaikovsky, Saint-Saëns, Davidoff, Dvorak, Popper, etc etc)
Directions of program per year for Bachelor cello students
- 1 Bach suite per year from I-III
- 1 Boccherini sonata
- 5 etudes from Dupport/Popper
- 3 caprices from dall'Abaco/Moja/Franchomme/Piatti
- 1 short study concert and 1 short solo concert or
- 1 major study/solo concert
- 1 sonata
- 1 virtuoso recital with piano (by Goens/Popper/Fitzenhagen/Klengel etc)
- 1 late 20th century or early 21st century piece
Bachelor's exam requirements
A and B must be represented at the exam and pieces from at least three different periods must be played:
A
- Baroque
- Classic
- Romance
- Fin de siècle to 1940
B
- Second half of the 20th century
- First half of the 21st century
