On October 29, 2024, the region around Valencia was severely affected by flooding due to a Depression Aislada and Niveles Altos (DANA). This natural disaster caused massive damage and disrupted the lives of many inhabitants.
To help the victims, music students from Codarts have taken the initiative to organize benefit concerts at the Kruisplein and WMDC venues. These concerts are part of the Music for Valencia initiative, which organizes benefit concerts worldwide to offer support to the affected region. It includes a series of charity concerts that will take place in different parts of the world, which anyone can attend both live and via livestream.
The first 'Codarts concert' took place December 2 and the second will follow on December 5, starting at 19:00 at location WMDC, Pieter de Hoochweg 125, Rotterdam. That evening's program will be provided by Lo Poloko and La Nique.
Together with the collaboration of the José Luís López Foundation and the cultural and charity association ‘Família Arcàdia’, both based in El Genovés (Valencia), ‘Music for Valencia’ will make sure that all the raised money will go directly to the most affected localities. Once the money is collected, we will show in our social media where these funds will go. Any kind of contribution will be of great help.
So far, nearly 4,000 euros has been raised through the GoFundMe page, one-fifth of the final goal. Donations can be made through this link.
