Full of enthusiasm, we introduce you to the six jazz musicians nominated for this year's prestigious Erasmus Jazz Prize:
- Anne-Roos Broekhuizen
- Eñaut Armentia Uribe
- Francisco Rodríguez Lisbona
- George Hytiroglou
- Inês Kosters
- Jakob Sedmak
The Erasmus Jazz Prize, which is made possible by Codarts and the Friends of Codarts Foundation, is a prestigious competition designed to guide up-and-coming jazz talent into the professional music world.
The prize, which this year will be awarded to a Codarts Jazz student for the 29th time, has been an important stepping stone for many successful jazz musicians. Musicians who won the prize in an earlier edition have since gone on to build fine music careers.
Among others, Jan van Duikeren, Bart Wirtz, Louk Boudesteijn, Rik Kraak, Mark Schilders and Alessandro Fongaro won the prize in previous editions. Last year, Andrew Moreno walked away with the win.
The semi-final is scheduled on 17 February. The grand final will take place on 9 March at Lantaren Venster. We wish all nominees the best of luck!
