Our main point of departure is that the skills of artists bring particular perspectives on complex issues in the world, and that they offer unique ways of responding to these.  

An initial question for 2023 concerns what it means to be an artist, or an artistic researcher, in a time of climate crisis. How would we like to re-imagine our practices, inclusively, collectively and individually? How can diverse artistic researchers build audiences and communities in the wake of a pandemic? Specific research questions and artistic projects will be developed during the course of collaborative experimentation and reflection.  

The professorship falls within the programme line of Performance Practice. It is committed to furthering artistic research in the Codarts community of teachers, and within bachelor, master and professional doctoral programmes.
