A candidate for the Argentinian tango master programme

  • Submits a (detailed) plan related to the Artistic Research Question(s) that intends to investigate during their Master's studies at Codarts Global Musics,
  • Provides a log handout with a personal performance history.
  • Provides YouTube links with relevant recordings,
  • Holds an undergraduate degree in music or equivalent,
  • Has an appropriate level on their instrument of choice,
  • Understands (at the undergraduate level in music) music theory,
  • Plays for a committee several pieces of relevant repertoire max 15 minutes. Free choice of repertoire.

 

Admission Requirements for the Tango Music Master’s Programme

General Requirements

·       Musicianship, affinity with instrument and repertoire: Applicants must demonstrate a high level of musicianship, including proficiency in repertoire, playing technique, rhythm, harmony (if applicable), intonation (if applicable), sight-reading, awareness of musical form and stylistic understanding.

·       Potential for development: Candidates should show potential for growth and skills development.

·       Passion, enthusiasm and cultural context:Applicants should display a deep passion for music, a good understanding of its cultural background and a clear dedication to their instrument, coupled with the commitment to pursue advanced studies.

·       Biography: A detailed record of personal performance history must be submitted.

 

Research Proposal
Each candidate must submit a detailed plan outlining the artistic research project they intend to conduct. This plan should describe how the candidate envisions executing the research and its practical application. An appropriate level of performance is essential to carry out the practical aspects of the research.
